Zambia Travel Guide

INTRODUCTION

Zambia is located in Southern Africa, to the east of Angola, and north of Botswana and Zimbabwe. Home to earth’s biggest waterfall, Zambia has beautiful wildlife and scenery.

Zambia’s population is more than 11 million people. English is the official language, but there are many other native languages spoken.

Lusaka is the capital city and is also a good base to explore the surrounding wildlife parks.

A trip on the Tazara express that runs from Lusaka to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania is a truely exciting adventure and a must if you have the time.

One of the world’s natural wonders is Zambia’s Victoria Falls, which forms the natural border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. At its highest, the Victoria Falls drop 345 feet, this is almost twice as far as Niagara Falls. This massive wonder spreads 1,700 feet wide and the view of the Zambezi River falling into the gorge below is one you will never forget.

Zambia is also known for its extensive widelife. There are various safaris you can take to view the African wildlife such as one to Luangwa National Park. If exotic birds are what you enjoy, you can take a birding safari. For the fearless traveler, there are walking safaris, where one can see baboons, elephants, crocodiles, and buffalo.

Zambia is said to be one of the world's friendliest countries. Why not partake in its natural and cultural wonders.
