Located in Mahoning County, Youngstown is 65 miles southeast of Cleveland and about 62 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. It is also the birthplace of Arby's, which is a fast food restaurant and Good Humor, which is an ice cream novelty store.
City attractions include Powers Auditorium (formerly the Warner Brothers theater), which is the city's primary music hall and home of the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. It is also home to four more auditoriums throughout the city.
Youngstown's most beloved resource is the Mill Creek Park. This five-mile-long park is made of landscaped woodland, reminiscent of Rock Creek Park in the Washington DC. It is also the second largest park in the country that lies within a munincipality. The first largest park is New York City's Central Park.
Highlights of Mill Creek Park include the restored 19th-century Lanterman's Mill, the dramatic rock formations of Bear's Den, nature trails, the Fellows Riverside Gardens and Nature Center, and the "Cinderella" iron link bridge.
