Washington Monument

This national treasure was built between 1848 and 1884 as a memorial to George Washington. The Washington Monument weighs 90,854 tons and stands 555 feet, 5-1/8 inches tall. The walls of the monument range in thickness from 15 feet at the base to 18 inches at the upper shaft.
