The Aquarium
A must-see! Over 25 exhibitions shelter a multitude of salt, fresh water,local and international species, from sharks and whales to exotic tropical species.
Cempoala
Cempoala is an archeological zone located an hour north of Veracruz. Here, one can view the remains of the ancient Totonac ceremonial center. Six large structures can be found, including the great pyramid. Cempoala is the location where Cortez formed his Indian alliance to fight the Aztecs.
Museum of Naval History
Four halls exhibit the history of navigation, a replica of the old Naval Academy, the historic acts of the Mexican Navy, and their arms and instruments of navigation.
Ecology Park
A baseball park and modern turf jogging path are nestled here amongst the greenery.
Our Lady of the Assumption
Cathedral construction began in the early 17th century and "the parish" was completed in 1731. Here rests the remains of Father Darío Acosta Zurita, a young Mexican Martyr, shot on the altar near the baptismal font in 1931.

These are preserved pyramids in an archeological zone 3 hours north of Veracruz.
Castle San Juan de Ulúa
A real castle built between 1528 and 1707. It has served as a fortress, a palace for kings, a dungeon, and a warehouse. Bilingual guides provide a rich historical and cultural tour.

Small boat rentals are available on this island for water skiing, sailing, scuba diving and snorkeling.
