Underground AtlantaUnderground Atlanta is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta – it’s a shopping and entertainment development that was built in 1969. There are two main halls in each level, called Upper and Lower Alabama and Pryor Streets. By day it’s a shopping mall and historical site, and after dark it turns into a night life spot. Underground Atlanta has struggled over the past several years, but the location of the World of Coke across the street has helped draw visitors to Underground. Some of the better clubs in Underground have closed, but it is worth a stop to take a peek and see what Underground Atlanta is all about. It is a small place, and unless you plan on shopping, a visit will not take more than thirty minutes or so. Stop in, you never know what might be going on. The city is constantly involved in efforts to revitalize the area.
