Tunis

Tunis, with a population of only 700,000 is the capital city of Tunisia. This city on the mediteranean is divided onto the new city and the old city, the Medina.

What the new city lacks in attractions and beauty, the old Medina makes up for with its mythical charm.

While the new city may have wide open spaces to wander around or relax in, such as Belvedere Park, the Medina comprises of tiny winding streets, ancient Mosques and up to 700 monuments, including palaces, mausoleums, madrasas and fountains, that testify to citys remarkable past.

Thanks to the preservation of these monuments and Palaces the Medina has been classified a UNESCO world heritage city and has a lot to offer visitors who make the effort to visit this ancient city.
