Trinity College, Dublin

Trinity College is the oldest college in Dublin and Ireland It has been attended by many well known Irish writers including both James Joyce and Oscar Wilde.

The campus is a sight to see with its beautiful architecture. It is also home to the Book of Kells, a 7th century manuscript produced by Celtic monks. This book is housed in a labyrinth of intricate images from the text and information about how the book was bound and made in that time period. The actual text is exquisite and colorful. It is a testament to the painstaking art work done at that time.

In the same building as the Book of Kells is Trinity's long library, stocked with thousands of ancient books and manuscripts which is worth the visit alone.

Also, be sure to stop by O'Neill's, a pub frequented by Trinity College students. It is just around the corner across from the visitors center. Stop by for a pint, great atmosphere, and fabulous food.
