Trakai Island Castle Lithuania

This beautifully restored Gothic castle sits atop an island on Lake Galvė. It is said to date back to approximately 1400, the time of Lithuania's Grand Duke Vytautas. A footbridge links it to the shore and a moat separates the triangular outer courtyard from the main tower with its huge central court and galleries, halls, and rooms.
