KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

North Queensland is HOT and HUMID in the summer, so be sure to take plenty of water, sunscreen, and hats with you. Beware of stingers in the water when it's windy and do not swim in waterholes without being sure there are NO crocodiles.

Visit Reef HQ, with over 100 varieties of coral and 200 species of fish, this is one of the worlds most amazing living reef aquariums.

Take a trip out to Magnetic Island where you can go swimming, snorkeling, diving, and fishing. The areas surrounding Townsville offer natural rainforest beauty, where you can fish in small creeks and rivers, bushwalk, and swim in crystal clear swimming holes. The tropical weather of North Queensland makes a perfect setting for you to explore it all.

For the more adventurous, take a drive out to Tully Gorge and have a go at white water rafting.
