The Getty Center

If you are looking for a free attraction in Los Angeles, look no further, though be aware of the steep parking cost and consider carpooling or public transportation. The Getty Center has an amazing collection of Western art, including European paintings, sculptures, photographs and more. Your day at The Getty Center will be sure to include wonderful history, stunning architecture and some of the best views in the world. While you walk through the Central Garden, be sure to listen to the varied sounds of the water flowing through the garden. Artist Robert Irwin manipulates the water to create various sounds and utilizes the over 500 species of plants to create an ever-changing piece of organic art.

Also free is The Getty Villa in Malibu. It is a museum and an educational center that studies Greek and Roman art and culture. Providing a different atmosphere than (although just as gorgeous as) the Center in L.A., travelers will visit Roman and Greek antiquities, as well as Roman-inspired gardens.
