INTRODUCTION
The city of Stuttgart is the capital of the Land (German state) of Baden-Wurttemberg. It is also known as "The garden of the Mares," since it once consisted of a stud farm and the mares that were held here. Stuttgart is built in a valley, almost totally surrounded by hills, except where the Neckar River flows through the city.
In the middle of the city, you can still find areas with trees and flower beds that make the city quite different from most others and enjoy a leisurely stroll, not far from the train station and the business center.
Stuttgart also has two castles, though strictly speaking, only the older one is in the form of a castle that could be defended. The Neues Schloss is more like a palace.
