A trip to Stone Mountain Park could be an all-day or a week long adventure offering camping, dining, skylift, golf, and a laser light show to keep you occupied. But let’s start with a quick lesson. According Wikipedia, Stone Mountain is the world's largest exposed piece of granite and is shaped like a dome with an intimidating elevation of 1,683 feet. Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis all Confederate States of America pioneers are carved there.
The park can be enjoyed with or without the attractions of the park. For $8 (cash only) per car a park permit will be given which includes access to trails, various children play areas, picnic tables, and a laser light show at dusk.
Other attractions include skylift, scenic train ride, riverboat, museum, 4D theater, and much much more. These attractions can be enjoyed separately starting at $7 or unlimited access to all (except sightseeing tour) starting at $24.
For extended visits there are on-site hotels or camping areas to allow for more time to see all this beautiful park has to offer.
