The town of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape province of South Africa is a huge student town and home to the prestigios University of Stellenbosch.
Soon after the first settlers arrived, especially the French Huguenots, grapes were planted in the fertile valleys around Stellenbosch and soon it became the centre of the South African wine industry.
The Stellenbosch wine route, in and around the cape winelands, is a world renowned and popular tourist destination.
