Not to be confused with St Nicholas Church in Old Town, St Nicholas Cathedral is located in the area of Prague known as Lesser Town and is bigger and richer than its Old Town counterpart. The current cathedral, recognizable by its green dome and bell tower, dates back to 1263, and played a significant role in re-Catholicizing Prague in the 1600s. Mozart lived in Prague, and played the same organ that resides in the cathedral today. St Nicholas Cathedral hosts concerts and gives tours throughout the year for a nominal admission fee.
