Speilzeugmuseum-Toy Museum

The toy museum in Munich is home to an impressive collection of toys from traditional wooden German toys, to modern day toys made of plastic. This extensive collection of antique toys belongs to the Czech artist Ivan Steiger, and has been on display since 1983.

Located in the Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall) next to the must-see Marienplatz, the museum is centrally located and worth seeing. The collection is great for kids, with different toys encased within four floors of the Rathaus.

Stories explaining the history of specific toys and the time period they were made are printed in both English and German. The Spielzeugmuseum costs around $5 for adults and is a perfect pit stop for a day in Munich.
