Sierra Vista Arizona

Located 20 miles north of Mexico and 70 miles southeast of Tucson, Sierra Vista is home to historic Fort Huachuca.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Huachuca, Dragoon, and Mule Mountains, this city is one of the premier bird-watching destinations in the country. Sierra Visita also has a temperate year-round climate, abundant sunshine, and clean, fresh air.

Sierra Vista is nicknamed the "Hummingbird Capital of the United States." Here, bird watchers from all over the world flock to the Ramsey Canyon Preserve and other local canyons to observe and photograph hundreds of bird species.

Some major events include the Pat Hughes Sierra Stampede, which is an all women’s rodeo held in January, the Cochise Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering?, which is held in February, the Festival of Color Hot Air Balloon Rally, which is held in the in the fall, and Arizona’s longest-running holiday parade, which is held in December.

The Art Discovery Series also presents plays, concerts, and musicals throughout the year and regular band concerts in the park for the summer.
