Sheshemene

The town of Sheshemene is south western Ethiopia is known as 'mini Jamaica'. In 1948 Emperor Haile Selassie I donated 500 acres of his private land to allow Black Ethiopian World Federation (EWF) officers, members and other settlers from Jamaica including other parts of the Caribbean to return to their ancestral homeland in Africa.

The town is home to and visited by hundreds of hundreds of Rastafaris and is the location of many meetings held by members of the 'Twelve tribes of Israel'.
