Samaná Dominican Republic

INTRODUCTION

Samana, or Santa Barbara de Samana, is recognized for its beautiful white sand beaches, where whale-watching is one of the main attractions.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Access to this region is somewhat complicated because of its independence from the rest of the island. Hotels and resorts are very rare in Samana, one of the few is the "Tropical Lodge". The airports are also very small and only very little airplanes are able to land.

ATTRACTIONS

The national Park, Parque Nacional de los Haitises, is a beautiful place to walk about. Samana Bay is the place to go for whale-watching. "Las Galeras" is the most touristic side of Samana. This hidden spot has the most spectacular beaches, it's practically paradise.
