Salem Maritime National Historic SiteThe Salem Maritime National Historic Site was established to preserve 12 historic sites that sit along the waterfront. Some of these structures include the Custom House, the Hawkes House, and the Derby House. There is also the Friendship House, which was modeled after the original that was built between 1796 and 1797. Ranger guided tours are available at a small cost.
