Raffles HotelEstablished in 1886, it is one of the last great 19th century hotels. Famous writers like Somerset Maugham, Rudyard Kipling and Joseph Conrad stayed here. The complex also includes a museum where artefacts of various types are displayed. Try the "Singapore Sling" cocktail at the bar, where it was invented.
