R Vezsenyis Niagara Story

My husband and I often visit Niagara Falls. It is not a long drive for us, and there is much to do there.

On one particular occasion, we headed out to "the Falls" to stay at The Oakes Fallsview.

I would certainly recommend the Fallsview hotels located on this road. The view is fantastic! The Fallsview district offers an area that you really don't have to leave if you don't want to. There are many restaurants, and there is also a newer casino that is a short walk from the hotels. Staying downtown is fun, too, but sometimes we feel like it is a little too much -- if you have been to Niagara Falls, you know what I mean by that!

John and I visited the Oakes in February for Valentine's Day. We got a great price on the room because of the time of year, and because I booked it online. The room itself was very nice and the bathtub was a jaccuzzi (of course!). We had a relaxing evening, and ate dinner at the casual restaurant downstairs(Applebee's). We walked around and visited what was the newest casino at the time. The best part of it all was that we were there on a Friday night, and the place was pretty much empty. We ended up having the pool, hot tub and sauna to ourselves! We had a great night, and the next day we did a little shopping at the Canada One Factory Outlet Mall. There are some great outlet stores in that plaza. We had a fantastic time.

A few items of note:

If you do feel the need to go to Lundy's Lane or anywhere downtown from the Fallsview area, there is a shuttle bus that will take you from the lobby.

Looking for a scare? The wax museums and "haunted houses" can be fun, but Nightmares Fear Factory is a haunted house that might actually frighten you enough to ask to be let out! It is located off Lundy's Lane. We loved it.
