The Plaza Hotel is a site of luxury for New York's wealthiest visitors. It offers several services for its customers, including a butler on every floor, a gymnasium managed by a celebrity trainer, babysitter concierges, a shopping mall, a Champagne Bar located in the hotel lobby with a scenic view of Grand Army Plaza, and meeting/conference rooms. The Plaza Hotel is the selected location of dozens of weddings each year. Rooms available for parties and gatherings include the Rose Club, the Grand Ball Room, the Edwardian Room, the Terrace Room, and the Oak Restaurant and Bar.
The Plaza Hotel has figured in several movies including Funny Girl (1968), The Way We Were (1973), the first two Crocodile Dundee movies, Almost Famous (2000), It Could Happen to You (1994), and Sleepless in Seattle (1993).
The Plaza Hotel might be best remembered for its important role in the popular Eloise books for children. The 1956 TV movie starring Evelyn Rudie as Eloise took place almost entirely within the hotel.
