INTRODUCTION

Oklahoma City is the capital of Oklahoma. The city is visitor friendly, offering a variety of gardens and festivals at different times of the year. Museums portray the culture of the area and arts centers and theaters add to its appeal.

HISTORY

The city was established in 1889 when the area was opened to settlers during the 'Oklahoma Land Run'. By the time Oklahoma was inducted as a state in 1907, this town had already become the industrial and populated center. Since then, industry has continued to grow making this city a major site for oil production as well as a major interchange on the Interstate Highway System.
