The North Cascades are a very diverse region of ecosystems. There are the tall Cascades Mountains, expansive forest regions as well as lakes and rivers full of fish. The park offers activities for experienced trekkers and novice day hikers alike.
The Cascades are one of the snowiest places on earth, collecting moisture from coastal storms and dumping snow all along the western side of the range. The east side sees much less precipitation but all areas experience variable maritime weather conditions.
There are over 400 miles of trails through the North Cascades park that have scenic leisurely walks along lakes sides to challenging treks up high mountain peaks. This park has something for every skill level.
