This beautiful 300-acre estate was the turn-of-the-century home of Alfred L. DuPont. Designed by Carrre and Hastings from New York, the house has 102 rooms. A guided tour reveals a treasure trove of fine European and American furniture, rare rugs, tapestries and outstanding works of art. After the house tour, visitors are taken on a guided bus tour through the Gardens. This is one of the finest examples of French-style gardens in America, since it extends one-third of a mile along the main vista from the house. The Gardens are landscaped with fountains, pools and statuary surrounded by natural woodlands.
