With 58 parks and over 300 other historical and cultural destinations the United States National Parks System is a true national treasure. The first national park in the world was Yellowstone National Park which was established in 1872 and now is one of the most popular destinations in the United States. Over two million people visit Yellowstone each year to see its many geological wonders like the Old Faithful Geyser.
The Parks are managed by the National Parks Service, which also manages many other sites of national historical, cultural or recreational importance, including The White House and The Statue of Liberty. All the sites together get an estimates 270 million visitors each year so be prepared for a crowd.
