This is a lovely zoo with very reasonable gate prices for adults ($11 per person). It is not a large zoo but the exhibits they do have that are open are well spaced out, in a logical order and very well kept. The zoo is very wide open with some walking paths having no shade so bring your sunscreen. A neat thing they do at this zoo is have animal foot prints in the cement walk ways so you follow their "trail" to their exhibit! There is a nice big merry-go-round that costs $2 a child to ride (parents/guardians get to stand and hold the small children on for free) with animals from the zoo as the seats. The most unexpected feature was a HUGE playground/fortress in the park where families could let the kids play and climb and run off some energy. You could also have your lunch or snack there which is a bonus. This area is near the enterance/exit of the zoo so you can run off the energy before or after the zoo visit.
