Mount Shasta

Mount Shasta, in the Cascade Range, is 14,179 feet high. It is unique in that it is not connected to any other mountains, and rises unexpectedly out of the terrain. The inactive volcano’s prominence and beauty have enchanted many writers and mountaineers.
