Mopti Travel Guide

Sometimes referred to as 'The Venice of Mali', Mopti is situated on the Bani and Niger rivers.

As the main trade route between the rest of Mali, Mopti is an important and busy cargo and passenger port which makes the city an exciting and lively place to stay in.

Take a stroll down to the bustling harbour where you can watch locals loading their traditional wooden boats which are built by hand,with various products and people.

Walking down by the river you will discover that the whole city itself is one giant market with thoasands of tiny stalls selling everyhing and everything.
