MonacoINTRODUCTION Thirteen years ago this country along the French Rivera gained full status into the United Nations. It is a great place to take a day trip from France or other European countries in the vicinity. Monaco's capital city is Monaco. Because of it's small size, Monaco has little to offer other than being a great resort. Monaco? is home to some great beaches, as well as the casino of the same name. You can catch the world famous Formula 1 race if you are there in late May. Finally, you can check out The Palace?, where Grace Kelly roamed when she was part of the country's monarchy. A great museum to visit and you will be delighted. Jardin Exotique de Monaco The Exotic Garden has acres of cacti and other succulents on a rocky mountainside. Observatory Caves 200 feet below the exotic gardens themselves, visitors can discover the immense chambers of the prehistoric Observatory Caves, whose stalagmites, stalactites and limestone concretions are admirably illuminated. Exotic Garden Strolling along the foot-bridges high above the cliff, with a beautiful view over the town and eastwards along the coast, its impossible not to be impressed by the the subtropical flora. Oceanographic Museum & Aquarium The impressive rooms of the Museum, contain incredible samples of marine fauna gathered by Prince Albert, numerous specimens of sea creatures, including the skeleton of a 66 foot whale), models of Prince Albert’s laboratory ships, and craftware made from the sea’s natural products. Part of the first floor is dedicated to the oceanographic works of Prince Albert 1,“Career of a Navigator." RESTAURANTS LODGING Fairmont Monte Carlo - This beautiful 5 star Hotel has everything you would expect, it is on the edge of the Mediterranean and has an in house restaurant and bar and many activities on offer. The hotel is only a short stroll to major shopping. Tulip Inn - This 3 star Hotel is located in the center of Monaco and is in easy walking distance to just about everything.
