Marianna ArkansasINTRODUCTION Marianna is located in Lee County and it lies along the L'Arguille River. Here you will find an abundance of wild game such as deer, wild turkey, squirrel, rabbit, quail, duck and dove. Bear Creek and Storm Creek lakes are also two of Arkansas' best fishing lakes on St. Francis National Forest for largemouth bass, crappie, bream, bluegill, catfish and other game fish. HISTORY Marianna was founded in 1870 by pioneers who came up the St. Francis River from the mighty Mississippi and settled here because of its strategic location and natural resources (according to the city's official website www.mariannaarkansas.org).
