Mammoth Cave National Park Kentucky

Mammoth Cave is the longest cave system in the world. Over 350 miles of cave have been explored and much of it is open to the public for tours. The park also covers part of the Green River and the surrounding hills and grasslands.

Outside temperatures are cool in the winter with hot summers. Rain storms occur often in the spring and summer months, with the driest weather happening in the fall. The cave maintains a relatively constant temperature year round.

The park offers several excellent cave tours but one of the most impressive is the Wild Cave Tour. It takes over six hours and covers more terrain than any of the other tours. It is for more advanced cave divers, and children under 16 are not permitted on the tour.
