Library Of Congress

Bibliophiles rejoice! The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world. It contains millions of books, recordings, photographs, maps, and manuscripts which are made available to Congress and the public. The library is housed in three buildings on Capitol Hill: the Thomas Jefferson Building, the John Adams building, and the James Madison Memorial Building.

Visitors to the library will definitely want to stop by and see the Library's Gutenberg Bible, one of only three perfect copies in the world. The Main Reading Room and the Great Hall are open to visitors and free guided tours are available. "The Library of Congress Experience" is a series of exhibitions (in the Thomas Jefferson Building) that display some of the Library's most treasured documents to the general public.
