Lea Malls Charleston South Carolina Travel Story

Charleston is one of the coolest, interesting cities I have ever visited. I vacationed there many times as a child; going to the beach, touring old houses, etc. Last summer I took my tweens there for a short weekend and they absolutely loved it. We visited IMAX theater and the huge fountain area where kids are encouraged to get wet! We also went to the beach for hours and had a great time. My kids begged to go on one of the varied ghost walks, including several warning ADULTS ONLY!!!

The nightlife is busy and varied, with bustling resturant and a HUGE local band scene, covering all forms of music - from blues and soul to rock!! The architecture is beautiful with old, orginal cobblestone streets and Civil War era buildings for tours. The scenery is breathtaking, including waterways and incredible beaches.

History buffs will be VERY interested in this coastal town, as it was the location of the "first shots of the American Civil War" at Fort Sumter. The tour of Fort Sumter is very educational and interesting, which includes a short boat ride to the Fort.
