La PlayaLa Playa, or the beach, is a great place to relax in Barcelona and is within walking distance of La Rambla. With Spain's warm weather, you can go for a swim even in late September or early October. Spanish beaches are different from American beaches. Even when they are not officially dubbed "nude beaches" there are often many visitors who are not covered up, so be prepared to see some skin. Alongside the beaches there is great shopping. Craftsmen often sell their work here, and you can buy original hand-painted fans and other pieces.
