Korcula Croatia

Korcula, an island off the coast of Croatia, is a rather long, narrow island averaging 20 miles by 5 miles. What is believed to have been the home of Marco Polo, the island is known for its dense forests. A section called Korcula Town is recognized for its medieval churches, palaces and houses.

Several different ferries can be taken to the island, each with differing travel times. The longest seems to be the ferry from Split, Croatia which takes a little less than 6 hours.

Travelers can stay in two or three star hotels, hostels, or private accommodation depending on the number of guests and the environment desired.
