Jazz In The Garden

Beginning in May, free jazz concerts are scheduled in the National Gallery of Art’s sculpture garden every Friday during summer. Locals usually show up before 5 p.m. to secure a spot with a blanket, others sit on the benches surrounding the fountain, and some even choose to sit on the edge of the fountain with their feet in the water. Pitchers of sangria, cups of beer, and food are sold by the museum’s Pavilion Café. Outside food and drink are not permitted, but with planning and a large purse, you can bring in a few drinks without much problem.
