Welcome to the center of Switzerland, and the breathtaking scenery and unforgettable moments this city has to offer: Interlaken. The region of Interlaken, between the two lakes Thunersee and Brienzersee, and at the foot of the three famous mountains Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, has been a holiday destination for people all around the world for decades.
Interlaken is a small but well-known tourist destination, near the centre of Switzerland, close to the Alps. Numerous hiking trails are available for travelers which lead to hidden picturesque views of the Alps. The Aare River also flows through the town.
A train to the highest point in Europe, Jungfraujoch, takes visitors on a high altitude journey. Once to Jungfrau, people can go out on the Alps and partake in supervised activities such as sledding (down a small hill, not the mountain), play in the snow, or even dine in their restaurant. It also offers an ice display, showing sculptures such as penguins made purely of ice. It is a unique experience, and it will take approximately half a day, if not more. If you do take the journey to Jungfraujoch, remember to dress warmly.
