Innsbruck

Innsbruck has hosted the Olympic Winter Games twice in the years 1964 and 1976. The Olympic ski jump is available for travellers to visit. You can even go to the starting line of the jump and experience the pre-jump jitters athletes face before an event. It also gives a scenic view of Innsbruck nestled beneath the breath-taking Alps.

The city is an incredible place to explore and you will discover art treasures and buildings such as the Golden Roof, the Hofburg and Ambras castle.

Tis is why a number of historians started a "search for the heart" in May 2001. The examination of the Cenotaph, however, found that there was only gravel inside, and to this day no urn containing the heart if Emperor Maximilian has ever been found…

This zoo is natural and safe for the animals, because only those species indigenous to the climate, altitude and area (such as bear, otter, buffalo, moose) are kept here. The Alpen Zoo is great for families or adults. You can get there via public bus, or by walking, but it is a long, all up hill walk.

This late Gothic building served as Armory for Emperor Maximilian I.

The renovated Museum features many exhibits, telling the story, the history and the culture of Tirol and its people

Giant Panoramic Painting

This oil painting, covering 1,000 square meters of canvas, depicts the Battle of Bergisel of August 13, 1809. Under the leadership of Andreas Hofer, the Tirolean farmers fought heroic battles to defend their homelands against the superior forces of the French and the Bavarians. The panorama painting is a wonderful and thought provoking portrayal of Innsbruck at around the turn of the century. Apart from scenes of the battle you see a view of "old Innsbruck" and the town area of Wilten. The naturalistic historical painting was made by Michael Zeno Diemer

If the view is so majestic visitors can't bear to leave, there is a hotel adjoined to the restaurant as well.
