Hyde Park London

One of the Royal Parks of London, this historic park covers 142 hectares. With over 4,000 trees, a Serpentine lake, a meadow, horse rides and lots of room to picnic with your friends and family, this is a beautiful park with plenty to offer to everyone.

If you walk to the west side of the park, you should visit Kensington Palace and the Kensington Gardens. Kensington Palace has been a residence of the Royal Family since the 17th century and today is the official residence of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and of Kent. The inside is gorgeously decorated and well worth the visit.

Some highlights of the park include the Diana, Princess of Wales memorial, the London Holocaust memorial, and a September 11th memorial. There's also the famous Speakers' Corner, where anyone can come to speak publicly. Speakers are generally uninterrupted by the law unless there is bad language or another problem.

Hyde Park is often the site of concerts and other events, such as a big-screen live broadcast of the Last Night of the Proms. It also the location for London's Winter Wonderland, an early winter carnival with a ferris wheel, food, shopping and an open-air ice skating rink.
