Houston Zoo

If you have young children, the zoo is worth a trip. The Children's Zoo, inside the main zoo, has many interactive areas. On a recent trip, my children popped up through clear domes into a prairie dog town, watched an otter swim underwater (a child of about 2 years was next to us and actually dodged as the otter came up to the plexiglass partition) and sat in a replica of a bald eagle nest while I took their pictures. Another highlight was the baby giraffe.
