Hillsborough River State Park

Canoe rentals, swimming pool, hiking trails, bike trails, and a number of playgrounds...you are sure to have a great time without spending as much as the larger attractions in Tampa.

Make sure you have mosquito repellant as they will suck you dry. You will literally see clouds of them ahead of you only to realize that you are standing in another cloud! They will leave you alone if you remember 3 things: they come out at dawn, they come out at dusk, and they will bite if you aren't wearing any deep woods off.

We go a lot, and it isn't as bad as it sounds. We have gone canoeing and gotten within 2 feet of a giant alligator. You can't exchange that expeience for anything! Our children talked about it for weeks!
