Hammamet

Hammamet is now the centre for tourism and pakage holidays in Tunisia despite the fact that it used to be a quiet fishing village not so long ago.

Apart from the beautiful beaches of the Cape Bon Peninsula, which are sheltered by the Dorsale hills which form the city;s backdrop, there are numerous attractions in the area.

Each summer cultural dramatic performances and other cultural events take place to entertain the masses of tourists.

Despite hoards of tourists visiting each year the old part of the town has managed to retain is mythical and historic charm as an old fishing port. It is a must see on any visit to the area as is the cities great Mosque.
