Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming Travel Guide

The Teton Range juts out of the low grass valleys of Grand Teton Park, making for spectacular scenery and an ideal habitat for wildlife. The park is great for campers and hikers, who can take leisurely walks through the low country around glacial lakes, or more intense hikes through the high mountain range.

Winter is cold and snowy and the springs come late. Summer is the most comfortable time to come to the park, when temperatures reach the 70s and 80s, but come prepared, as thunderstorms are common during this time.

Grand Teton is a haven for rock climbers and mountaineers. The high rocky, Teton range offers difficult technical climbs and long over-night summits. If you are planning a longer over-night trip, you must get a back country permit before climbing.
