Grand Canal Venice

The Grand Canal is the main canal which leads through the heart of Venice. The best way to see the canal is by taking a gondola ride so you can witness the different styles of architecture--like Classic Venetian Gothic, Renaissance, or Venetian Baroque--and other sights that line the way. Also be sure to visit the Rialto Bridge and take a break to eat along the water and drink a glass of Italian wine.
