Gaslamp Quarter

The Gaslamp Quarter is a shopping and dining quarter in downtown San Diego. The eclectic neighborhood was named for the gas lamps that were common in 19th century San Diego; today, antique electric streetlights and brick façades, along with four actual gas lamps, contribute to thte area’s historic feel. The festive neighborhood comes alive at night, with the help of jazz clubs, nightclubs, restaurants, microbreweries, and sidewalk cafés. Stroll down 5th Avenue, the Gaslamp’s main road, and you will find these dining and entertainment opportunities. The Gaslamp also offers walking ghost tours at night.
