INTRODUCTION

Gainesville, Florida is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time you stay there. It is rich in art, history, and nature. Gainesville has several museums such as the Florida Museum of Natural History and a hiking trail that is excellent for nature lovers known as the Florida National Scenic Trail. Gainesville is home to the University of Florida, which is the largest university in Florida and one of the largest in the United States. Santa Fe collage, one of the country's largest community colleges, is also located here.

HISTORY

Gainesville bested other cities such as Lake City and Bartow by getting chosen to be home to the University of Florida. Gatorade, the famous sport drink, was invented at UF in order to serve as an 'aid' to the UF football Team (Gators).
