INTRODUCTION
Fremont is the forth most populous city in the San Francisco Bay area, where it is located. Its population is very ethnically diverse having large groups of Afghans,Indians, Taiwanese, Chinese and other Asian groups calling it their home. Fremont hosts the Fremont Festival of Arts annually on the first week of August which is known as the largest free festival on the west coast.
Fremont constitutes of 5 towns: Centerville, Irvington, Mission San Jose, Niles and Warm Springs.
Centerville is known as "Little Kabul" for its large Afghan population. Irvington is known for its many antique shops and restaurants which date back to the 1800s and is also known for having public schools that rank among the best in the country. Niles' attractions include a silent movie theater, craft stores and the Niles Canyon Railway which runs along the Alameda Creek on a very popular and often sold out historic weekend tours. Finally, Warm Springs is famous for a large number of authentic Asian stores and supermarkets.
