It's worth it to make a day trip to Folly Beach if you're staying in Charleston. The beach itself is absolutely beautiful and is one of the most popular surfing spots on the East Coast. Take a walk along the pier, rent a jet ski or just relax in the surf. The laid back surf town offers a relaxing retreat and has some good shopping and restaurants right on the beach.
