This is the home field of the American League baseball team, The Boston Red Sox. Fenway Park opened in 1912, making it the oldest active Major League field in the country. The field is located near Kenmore Square and can easily be accessed from the "T", Boston's subway system. Simply take the Green Line T to the Kenmore Square stop and walk a short distance on Brookline Avenue to the stadium.
Driving is also possible but expect to pay in excess of $30 for parking. There are a few coveted free parking spots on near-by side streets (Try Mountford Street, take the first right after Kenmore Square off of Beacon street, there is free parking all along the right side of the road).
Once you get to the park entrance, gates are located on Yawkey Way and Lansdowne Street. There are many concession stands inside Fenway but food and beverages are expensive (Fenway Frank's are $4.75 and beer is over $7).
Make sure to notice the "Green Monster," a towering 37 foot 2 inch green wall in left-field, designed to make up for the short distance to home plate. Also check out the "Williamsburg" bullpen, nicknamed for slugger Ted Williams. The bullpen was a favorite target for left-handed hitters who took advantage of the closer bullpen wall to hit more home runs.
If you aren't lucky enough to get tickets to a game then check out the Bleacher Bar, a restaurant and bar built right into Fenway Park featuring a garage door size window onto the field. Bleacher Bar is located on Lansdowne Street.
Finally brush up on the lyrics to Niel Diamond's "Sweet Caroline," as the song will likely be sung at some point during the game.
